Upasana Kamineni Profile and Biography
Upasana Kamineni, is the grand daughter of Dr. Pratap C Reddy, Chairman and Co-founder of Apollo Hospital. She is the eldest daughter of Mr Anil & Shobana Kamineni, who are into the business of Infrastructure, Leisure and Healthcare. She is currently the Vice President of Apollo Chairty & Editor of B Positive, Lifetime WellnessRx International Limited, Apollo Group of Hospitals. Upasna Kamineni has also carved a niche for herself in the healthcare division. And significantly Upasana Kamineni is heading the charity initiatives of Apollo Hospitals Group – which is the third largest private hospital network in world.

Being the granddaughter of Asia’s largest private hospital chain’s founder-chairman Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Upasana was educating fellow countrymen on how to stay fit and healthy. Her ceaseless efforts on social initiatives include Saving A Child’s Heart Initiative (SACHi), Society to Aid the Hearing Impaired (SAHI), etc. And that's not all, Upasna spends majority of time with Kids who are undergoing treatment in Apollo.

Upasna's care for animals is evidently seen after her association with Blue Cross. Further, she also has an animal farm at her residence where she's already rescued 4 tonga, 8 donkeys and 4 abused cows from slaughter.

Shobana Kamineni
Mrs. Shobana Kamineni serves as an Executive Director of Special Initiatives at Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. Boasting of a a degree in Economics,  Shobana Kamineni has more than 23 years of experience in the healthcare industry, largely in project management. She serves as the Chairman of Apollo Lavasa Corporation and as a Nominee Director of Apollo Sindoori Hotels Limited. She has been a Director of Apollo Health Street Inc., Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. and Apollo Health Street Limited. since April 2005. Shobana is also the Chairperson of the CII National Committee on Entrepreneurship and the CII (Southern Region) Social Development sub-committee and is actively involved in the development of pharmaceutical retailing. Shobana was a national level Squash player and enjoys adventure sports.

Anil Kamineni
Holding a B. Com and MBA degree,  Anil Kamineni is the promoter of the KEI Group, which is into business of Marine Service & Port Management, Leisure & Hospitality, Marginal Oil & Gas Fields and Theme Park & Night Safari. Mr. Kamineni serves as a Non-Executive Director of Indraprastha Medical Corp. Ltd. since October 22, 2008 and as a Director of Apollo Energy Company Ltd. He is also on board of various other companies including Prime Time Recreations Pvt. Ltd., Kiddy Concepts Pvt. Ltd., TRAC India Pvt. Ltd., TRAC Eco & Safari Park Pvt. Ltd., Kei Energy Pvt. Ltd and Kei Vita Pvt. Ltd.

Prathap C. Reddy (Grand Father)

Dr Prathap C Reddy M.D, MBBS, FCCP, FICA, FRCS (Hony) is a cardiologist and entrepreneur who founded the first corporate chain of Hospitals in India – the apollo Group.
Starting from a 300-bedded Hospital in 1983, the Group has, over the past 27 years, grown to 8500 beds across 54 hospitals with over 4000 clinicians and a total employee strength of more than 60,000 professionals, the Apollo Hospitals Group is one of the largest hospital groups in the world. These hospitals have served over 19 million patients from 55 countries, with seven of them having the JCI accreditation.
Dr.Reddy has undertaken pioneering work in bringing about institutional changes in the private healthcare infrastructure by, inter alia, establishing Apollo Institutes for post graduate Medical and Nursing Education, Hospital Administration, Physiotherapy, Clinical Research and a large number of Paramedical Programs.With the setting up of the Apollo Telemedicine Networking Foundation, Health Super Hiway, Apollo DKV Insurance Co and the Apollo Reach Hospitals, the Apollo Group (primarily identified as a healthcare provider) is today a leading provider of healthcare solutions, inclusive of next generation healthcare IT solutions and services.
He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1991 for his contribution to the emergence of the private healthcare sector and his role in bringing about several regulatory changes relating to licensing, import restrictions, organ transplantation, etc. He received a number of esteemed awards and recognitions such as Mother St Teresa's ‘Citizen of the Year Award’, recognition in a Harvard School publication for pioneering efforts in healthcare, ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ by Hospimedica International, the ‘Asia Pacific Bio Business Leadership Award’ by the University of Southern California, Modern Medicare Excellence Award by the ICICI Group for outstanding achievements in the healthcare industry and several others.
As Chairman of the CII National Healthcare Committee since 2006, Dr Reddy constituted sub-committees for drawing up standards for accreditation of Indian Hospitals for the first time in the country. One of the areas of impact has been in the area of budget recommendations to the Government, and health insurance.
